Potpourri recipe for kitchens
This potpourri is clean, fresh and citrussy, perfect for kitchens and dining rooms.
Ingredients to make one large bowlful:
Dried lavender 1 handful. Dried orange slices 2 handfuls. Dried bay leaves 1 handful. Large dried chillies 1 handful. Assorted whole spices 1 handful - e.g. nutmeg (with the surface abraded for fragrance), cloves and/or cinnamon sticks. Mini lavender bunches and dried marjoram flowers to decorate. A few drops of fragrance oil -we used orange and rosemary.
Method Place all the dry ingredients in a plastic bag and add the fragrance oil. Shake gently but thoroughly to distibute the oil and leave overnight to permeate.
(As with all fragranced products, avoid contact with polished, painted or syntheitc surfaces, may mark textiles.)
Potpourri recipe - Lavender and Rose
This is a very pretty and traditional potpourri, popular in living rooms and bedrooms.
Simply take a handful of fragrant dried lavender to two handfuls of rose petals and/or rose buds in a plastic bag. Add a couple of drops of rose fragrance oil, shake and leave overnight to permeate.
